The Keep Her Safe project was officially launched on September 3, 2022, with the aim of mobilizing and sensitizing 50 young girls aged 18-35 on various forms of violence and its effects on women and girls. The event commenced with a peer-to-peer session, providing a platform for the participants to express their concerns, fears, and challenges they encounter as women and girls in their communities, schools, homes, and families.
Objective:
– To raise awareness on different forms of violence affecting women and girls.
– To provide a safe space for participants to share their concerns
Gender inequality still persists in many countries and it is very important that we find ways of addressing. In order for us to create an inclusive and prosperous society it is crucial we leverage on empowering girl and achieve gender equality. Our contribution to this agenda consist of creating safe spaces for girls to achieve their potential, have a voice over decisions that affect their lives, build their confidence and skills as well as promote promote girls access to opportunities.
