Achieving Peaceful School Environment Through Students Leadership” project

IRebuild Africa is delighted to share the success of our recent 5-day Achieving Peaceful School Environment Through Students Leadership” project in Yaounde, Cameroon, where we focused on fostering a peaceful school environment through student leadership. The project, which took place from the 2nd to the 7th of October 2024, involved collaboration with College Bilingue les Sapins, Mario Academy, Mervick Bilingual College, English High School, and GreenHills College, igniting a transformative journey of empowerment.

During the project, we provided intensive training to 210 student leaders from these five schools in the Yaounde 6 Municipality. Our program covered essential topics such as conflict management, addressing school-related gender-based violence, and nurturing servant leadership qualities. These students have now emerged as influential peace ambassadors within their communities, poised to drive positive change and unity. Equipped with students’ guides for change, they are prepared to lead with purpose and make a lasting impact.

We are deeply grateful to USAIDS for the YALI Alumni Community Engagements Fund, channeled through the YALI Regional Leadership Center West Africa, for their invaluable support in bringing this initiative to fruition. The project activities included educational sessions on violence prevention, conflict resolution strategies, combating intimate partner violence, and enhancing effective communication skills among the student leaders.

At IRebuild Africa, our core mission revolves around nurturing a culture of peace and empowerment through education and leadership development. This project exemplifies our steadfast commitment to driving positive transformation and building a brighter future for the communities of Yaounde, Cameroon.
