Achieving Peaceful School Environment Though Students' Leadership

IRebuild Africa carried out a  5-day Achieving Peaceful School Environment Through Students Leadership” project in Yaounde, Cameroon, where we focused on fostering a peaceful school environment through student leadership.

 


The Right Mindset for Empowerment

 

On June 14th, 2020, IRebuild Africa had the privilege of visiting the Bafut Women’s Association, a group of inspiring women who are working hard to improve their lives and their community. We were warmly welcomed by the association’s president, Mrs. Njikam, who shared with us their vision and achievements. (SGBV) in Cameroon.

Survivor -Centered Case Management workshop

On Friday, 18th November 2022 IRebuild Africa organized a survivor-centred case management workshop in Yaoundé, which targeted GBV case workers on survivor-centred case management skills building. The objective of this program was to improve available services provision and raise community awareness of services for survivors of gender-based violence.


International Day of the Girl Child

 

We commemorate the 10th anniversary of the International Day of the Girl Child, On 11 October 2022, under the theme “Our Time is Now! Our Rights, Our Choices’. This day marks a global moment to promote the rights and empowerment of girls around the world. 

Creating safe and girls friendly space for young women and girls

The Keep Her Safe project was officially launched on September 3, 2022, with the aim of mobilizing and sensitizing 50 young girls aged 18-35 on various forms of violence and its effects on women and girls. 

Commemorating the International Day of the Girl Child

On October 23rd, 2022, we joined our voices with Plan International Cameroon, the Ministry of Women Empowerment and the Family, the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Unicef Yaounde and other civil society organizations in a roundtable discussion on how to enhance girls’ access to these rights.

Commemorating the 12th Anniversary of the International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation with UNFPA Cameroon

 

On 6 February 2023, we joined the global community in marking the 12th anniversary of the International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation. This day was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2012 to raise awareness and mobilize action to end this harmful practice by 2030, as part of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Commemorating the International Day of the Rural Woman.

 

On October 15, 2021, IRebuild Africa partnered with Building Together Cameroon to celebrate the International Day of the Rural Woman. This day recognizes the critical role and contribution of rural women in enhancing agricultural and rural development, improving food security and eradicating rural poverty.

Celebrating the 11th anniversary of the International Day of the Girl Child 2023

The commemoration of the 11th anniversary of the International Day of the Girl Child, under the theme “Invest in Girls Rights: Our Leadership, Our Wellbeing,” was marked by a significant event organized by IRebuild Africa in Partnership with NBA foundation and Timely Performance Care Center .

A milestone for 50 women-led businesses in Cameroon, through the Revup Women Initiative

 

The RevUp Women Initiative Program is a unique enterprise development program aimed at empowering women-led businesses in Africa with the skills, resources, and network they need to grow and scale their ventures. The program is an initiative of AfriLabs, a network of innovation hubs across Africa, sponsored by The Visa Foundation, a global philanthropic arm of Visa, and implemented by zixtechhub, a leading innovation hub in Cameroon.

How to Engage Your Community During Advocacy

 

In our recent training session, focused on addressing gender-based violence (GBV) faced by persons with disabilities, the workshop brought together personnel from Timely Performance, who work directly with individuals with special needs. Participants explored effective strategies for community engagement, fostering a supportive environment, and advocating for the rights of those affected by GBV. Together, we took important steps toward creating a more inclusive and protective community.

GEP - Empowering Girls to Lead and Inspire

 

The Girls Empowerment Program (GEP) held its annual summer event from June 11-12, 2024 in Buea under the theme “Empowering Girls to Lead and Inspire.” It brought together 70 teenage girls from ages 11-19 for a transformative two- day program who were educated on menstrual hygiene, financial literacy and building self-esteem and a practical session on baking and juice making
